fenugreektea

Before I start this post on the top 5 at home bad breath cures, I need to point out that these cures will only work if your bad breath is caused by the more common causes of gastro-intestinal disorders, intestinal sluggishness or other health problems. If however your bad breath is caused by dental decay or tooth abscesses then you will need to see your dentist for proper care.

But if you are like the majority of the rest of us, your bad breath is either caused by internal health issues, like I’ve mentioned, or even excess bacteria on your tongue (tongue scrapers are great for this).

Without further ado here are the top 5 bad breath cures you can try at home:

1. Fenugreek Tea – Out of all the at home remedies for bad breath, fenugreek seems to be the most effective. You can buy fenugreek tea from many specialty tea houses, or you’re can make your own using fenugreek seeds seeped in boiling water for around 10 minutes.

2. Eating Avocado’s is another great remedy as the avocado flesh removes any decomposition in the mouth or gut which may be causing your bad breath (and avocado’s are delicious too!)

3. Many natives often use unripe guava or the tender leaves from a guava plant. By chewing this it releases phosphoric acids and calcium which are excellent for curing bleeding gums and restoring your mouth to a much healthier environment.

4. Parsley is probably a method your mother told you about, and its true – chewing on Parsley can help sweeten and freshen your breath. Chew it after your meal.

5. Adopting a raw fruit and vegetable diet. Often an extreme measure, but by eating a raw food diet – many former bad breath sufferers claim it has cured their bad breath long term. If you can’t stomach such a drastic change to your diet, then try juicing fruits and vegetables and drinking them everyday.
